Reunion

Back together in the same place after almost three years.

Meetings

I headed off to Bangkok last weekend for a meeting with my bosses. I gave a presentation about my thoughts on the projects as they are now and where I would like to see them in the future. All in all, it was very successful and cathartic.

I got to air some of my opinions and found the response to be quite supportive. Moving forward, I feel that I now have a better perspective on where I should be going. Now I just need to prove that the ideas I said will work, actually do work.

Another benefit of going to Bangkok was the chance to see some people I haven't seen in a long while. A couple of friends that I had not seen since my studies in Thailand happened to be passing through. It was wonderful to see them again and it felt a bit like old times as we gathered for Indian food and Thai beer.

One of the last things to come out of the meeting was the need to talk about my contract. I will be discussing that further tomorrow. My thoughts as of now are that I would like to stay on for another year, but I would like a month or two to spend in the States and see family and friends. Any thoughts or input is welcome.

My opinion on war

I am against conflict. I think that we, humanity, should work as hard as we can to prevent war. There are few, if any, justified wars in history.

In any war, there is no just side to pick. The path to pick is the one that leads to discussion, civility, and peace.

Although, I believe these things, I also know that I would speak different were I not a well-off, capable individual, with no history of armed conflict.
